Holi is a festival for everyone, including kids, adults, wealthy people, and others who aren’t as wealthy. On this day, we celebrate Radha and Krishna’s unwavering love and the victory of good over evil. It is a time for celebration as it brings in spring and the start of the spring harvest. The festivities start the night before with a ritual called Holika Dahan in which one prays to exterminate the evil within them. People play Holi the following morning, dousing one another in colour.
Not everyone, though, experiences joy and colour in the same way. Children and adults from difficult socioeconomic backgrounds perceive their life as being solely black and white. We can make their lives happy and colourful on this Holi 2023.
